| Mountain X, 4X what is it? Mountain X is a name sometimes used for the sport of 4X. Mountain X pertains to a style of running the event. 4X run under the Union of Cycling International (UCI) rules, requires each rider to ride the course individually and be timed, this then places slower riders against quicker riders and in each heat. After a heat the 3rd and 4th places are finished for the race meet and 1st and 2nd go on to the next round. In Mountain X the riders are random drawn and ride 3 heats gaining points, semi finals and finals are then carried out using the elimination style of racing. A company called Australian Mountain X has claimed rights to "Mountain X" so the name is no longer used. |
